Google cuts titles by pixel width, not a fixed number of characters: roughly 580 pixels on desktop, which is usually 50–60 characters. This tool measures the real width as you type, so you can see exactly where your title would be cut off.
Aim for about 140–160 characters. Google shows roughly 920 pixels on desktop and less on mobile. Google may still rewrite your description if it thinks other text on the page matches the search better, but a good one is used most of the time.
Google rewrites titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords, the same on many pages, or don't match the page content. Keep each title unique, descriptive and close in meaning to the page's main heading (H1).
Social apps use Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image), not your Google title. If they are missing, the preview may be blank or use a random image. Add them, with a 1200×630 px share image. WhatsApp and Facebook also cache previews, so changes can take time to show.
No. Google has ignored the meta keywords tag for over a decade. Focus on the title, meta description, headings, content and structured data instead.
